Established as an open-air center in 1956, Harlem Irving Plaza has been expanded, enclosed and enhanced to become the area's dominant shopping center.
The 700,000 square-foot center is home to over 140 national, regional and local specialty retailers including anchor tenants Carson Pirie Scott, Kohl's, Best Buy and Target, in addition to Express, Express Men, Forever 21, Hot Topic, LensCrafters, Bath and Body Works, Victoria's Secret, Limited and New York & Company.
Since becoming a charter member of the International Council of Shopping Centers in 1957, Harlem Irving Plaza has continued to grow and expand both its facilities and its services. The newest addition is the redevelopment of the south end of the center.
The cornerstone of this project is a multi-level Target store. Near the crossroads of two major thoroughfares, Harlem Avenue and Irving Park Road on Chicago's Northwest side, Harlem Irving Plaza is located just minutes from O'Hare International Airport and a few miles from Chicago's busy Kennedy Expressway.
