With the growth of the University of Illinois at Chicago,
the storied Near West Side neighborhood of Maxwell Street
is being reborn as University Village.
The project includes 930 residences that recall the best
of Chicago style architecture, with historic lofts, town
homes and six-flat condominiums. Tree-lined streets, landscaped
corridors and strategically placed parks add to the effect
of green, open space.
University Village Marketplace is the mixed-use development
along Halsted, featuring student apartment buildings above
street level retail and restaurants. Additionally, the
rehabilitation of existing structures to create more shops
will provide a vibrant retail environment for the residents
of University Village and the surrounding community.
